Bad Dog!

My dog, Rory is crate "trained". I put that in quotes as she is a terrier, and I swear you can't train a terrier to do anything, well at least mine. What it comes down to it she spends the day in the crate while we're at work. So, today I get home and she's waiting for me the kitchen. Ummm . . . I actually did ask her how she got out, of course she looks at me with her dumb puppy eyes and wags her tail like she should be in the kitchen. Dumb dog!

I go back to my bedroom and I see this:
Well, crud! So, I got to spend my evening at my favorite place in the world, Wal-Mart, buying a new crate. I chose a metal one, the better to stand up to her annoying little "I am going to tear through my crate" plans. After all, if the metal one (and a carabiner) can keep my brother's Ivy League-ready, rambunctious border collie in, it ought to work on my dumb-as-a-box of rocks terrier.

One more little bit of craziness. Now this thing is assembled by pulling up each of the four sides and then they snap into place. Relatively simple, but still, who's brilliant plan was it to put the instructions inside the crate so that you have to assemble it get them out? Seriously!

Happy Friday, everyone. Have a good weekend.

Sometimes it takes a few shots

I got this really cool frame for Christmas and I wanted pictures of Kathryn & Elena for it. I got Kathryn's picture in one shot at Ronny's wedding and I decided to try for Elena's on Sunday. Here are some of the results (there was about 12 shots total)

I like the last two shots and am trying to decide between them. Any opinions?

Hey, Dads!

We may not always see eye to eye with you, but you're pretty cool people. We here at Laney's Mommy wish an especially Happy Father's day to Mike & Derrick, our uncles. So after naptime we headed into the back yard. Elena & Rob blow some bubbles.
Elena refused to get into the pool. Kat got in to try to entice her, but no go.
Laney would stand outside and throw splash balls in.But she had a better time on the see-saw.
Hope you had a fabulous day Dads!

The Good, the Bad, & the just plain Poopy

The Good:

The hubby and I made 9 years last week, most of them pretty darn great. We celebrated Saturday night with a babysitter & a dinner a Carrabbas.

We also got Kathryn's final report card. She managed all A's, except for an 87 in Math. Can I get a Woo hoo?

The Bad:

I am going to a funeral on Wednesday. My father's youngest sister died this morning. She was 81 and had been sick, so while it is sad, it could be worse. If you're the praying type, keep her family in your prayers, especially her husband.

And the Poopy:

Elena. It sucked. Hopefully it's over. 'Nuff said.

Cue the Alice Cooper . . .

SCHOOL'S OUT FOR SUMMER!

We had a special dinner for our 8th grade graduate Friday night - New York Strip & King Crab Legs, yum!
And then things just got silly - a small "food fight" between Kat & my mom.
An ET moment between crab claws.
Laney finally got her hands on a crab leg shell & didn't know what to do with it!
Congratulations, Kathryn!
